Spendgo Passwordless Login

We’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into some exciting changes coming your way! At Spendgo, we've been hard at work to elevate the sign in and sign up process for new and returning members.

Create Account Flow

(1) Enter phone number or choose an alternate sign-in method
(2) Enter One-Time Passcode and sign in
(3) New or existing Spendgo members signing up with a brand for the first time, must complete their profile.

What’s New?

Experience a streamlined process with passwordless sign in, reducing the creation of fake accounts, eliminating the hassle of password management, and enhancing overall security.

  • Better experience and faster sign ups
    New sign-ups no longer require an email to confirm account completion. An SMS One-Time Passcode (OTP) is delivered during sign-up for faster and better conversions. On a mobile device, the customer no longer needs to navigate away from the sign-up; with one tap, the OTP can be auto-filled and verified.

  • New look and feel
    The new look is still responsive with better accessibility, performance, and minimizing friction to sign in and sign up.

  • New required phone verification
    During sign up we’ll send a OTP via text message to their mobile number. The passcode is valid for 10 minutes.

  • Secure passwordless sign in
    Customers and members no longer need to create or remember their password, we’ll text or email them an OTP. Members who prefer to continue to use their password can do so by selecting the option to “Sign in with password”.

  • Simple password recovery
    Forgot password is now an OTP delivered to your email. Customers will have an option to update their password or skip it, as passwords are no longer required!

  • Quick link & capture member information
    Existing Spendgo members can continue to use their same credentials to sign in to any brand within the Spendgo Network. On their first sign-in to a new brand, they will be prompted once to add any missing information relevant to that brand.

  • Enhanced Google Analytics
    With the new experience comes more fine-tuned events for tracking sign up and sign in conversions.

Things to Know

  • For applications currently integrated with Spendgo’s Auth Service (OAuth 2.0), no changes are required. It will automatically be directed to the new Passwordless experience.

  • Mobile app integrations using the Spendgo Mobile App APIs will continue to support the email/phone and password experience. We recommend all these integration move to the new OAuth with Passwordless experience. Reach out to your App Provider for more information about timing for this to be available for your brand.

  • For Member Support in the Dashboard, the "Send Reset Password Email" link will continue to function as before. The member will receive the Reset Password email with a link to reset their password.

  • Your current Google Analytics Measurement Id will continue to work. The new Passwordless event data will populate to the same property. The events and labels have changed, learn more about using Google Anaytics with your site.

  • You DON’T need to update any URLs pointing to the current sign up forms. Spendgo will automatically redirect members to the new Passwordless experience.

How to Prepare

Review your Spendgo Sign Up Images

Your current sign up images will seamlessly transition to the new Passwordless experience; however, to improve the user exerience the logo specifications have changed.

Updates to your logo is time sensitive. Please update before the release on Monday, June 17, 2024.

  • Logo Image
    Your Logo should be a maximum height of 104 pixels x 320 pixel wide. If your current logo is taller than this limit, we recommend reviewing and updating this prior to the release. Otherwise it will resize down to the 104 pixels and may no longer be legible.
    For brands who currently include text in their logo to communicate information to their users, we recommend separating out the content from your logo. Use the custom Footer Text to display any custom text in the new Passwordless interface.

  • Background Image
    Your Background image specification has not changed, it will work the same as before. Stay tuned for updates on background and other customization options. Your Customer Success Manager will notify you as soon as these become available.
